Butterflies

The National Museum of Natural History currently has a special butterfly exhibit open on the second floor. Visitors can walk through an enclosed space that is about 85 degrees with 80% humidity, and see dozens of butterflies of all shapes, sizes, and colors. I wanted to go ever since my first visit to the museum. The only thing is, you need a ticket to get in. I found out that tickets were free on Tuesdays, so I decided to go then. I usually only worked from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesdays, so I figured that I would have plenty of time to get down there and get a ticket. Well, it took me four tries but I finally got a ticket! As you can see, it was well worth it the effort. . .

This was the biggest butterfly I had every seen! It was seriously the size of both my hands put together.

As you left, they had a room full of mirrors where you could check yourself and make sure that no butterflies had landed on you and were trying to hitch a ride out of there! One large blue butterfly tried to escape as I left and a museum employee had to come catch it with a net and take it back inside.
