I dyed last night!

Last night I experienced what it would be like to be a professional cosmetologist. Well, sort of. In preparation for a big hair show that Amber is attending in Las Vegas this week, she wanted to touch up her hair color. When her friend who was originally going to do it couldn't, she asked if I would. What a brave girl. :)

I had helped people dye their hair before, but that was just the stuff that comes in a box at the grocery store. This time it was the real deal. Real dye, tin foil, the whole works. I just didn't have gloves, so I had to resort to wearing my mom's lovely pink ones that she uses when washing the dishes. I felt so clumsy and uncoordinated. It's hard to juggle the dye brush, the comb, the hair clips, and the tin foil at the same time while trying not to get dye all over the place!

Amber kept saying "Come on Kim, it's not that hard. This stuff is common sense." Well, it may be to her, but I haven't been attending hair school for the past five months. This stuff was totally foreign to me!

I must say though, in the end I think that it turned out quite well. Dyeing hair is a little more forgiving than cutting it, at least in my experience. . .

  2. Oh this takes me back to bleaching hair in high school through those hideous caps! Way too painful! Good thing I'm a brunette. Very good thing.
