Peking Acrobats

Last night I had the opportunity to go to the Peking Acrobat show on campus, and let me just say that it was the most unbelievable, freaking-amazing thing I have ever seen! A colorful display of balance, strength, flexibility, skill, talent, poise, and grace. I can't imagine all the years of practice and hard work that must have gone into these performances.

I sat there for the full two hours with my mouth agape, only able to occasionally utter unintelligent phrases such as "Holy cow!" "Oh my heck!" and "No way?!" They performed feats that you would think humanly impossible. And just when you thought you'd seen it all, they would take it one step further!

The performance included juggling, tumbling, and contortion; 11 people piled onto a moving bicycle in perfect formation; a man balancing with one arm on six stacked chairs which were precariously perched atop four bottles; and a glorified version of what I used to call "playing on dad's feet." I just can't even begin to describe it! Our hands were red afterward from clapping so much.

I am so glad that Hannah came with me!

Silly faces . . .

We tried to recreate our faces of awe here, but it didn't really work.

I really wish that I had pictures of the acrobats, but that was prohibited. :( If you are interested in seeing these acrobats though, here are a few links to YouTube you can check out. . .
